Eliza | Test Shoot

I looove being able to create delicate lighting setup that just softly touch my models angles, giving all the strength of the picture in their expression and my composition….  Even though I love this style, I wanted to try something else… something at the opposite of that, you know those greatly contrasted pictures where part of the information is completely concealed leaving space for the imagination ??...  

Before even starting to think about an Editorial with this kind of atmosphere I wanted to do some lighting test shoot, so I asked my lovely friend Éliza to come to the studio and help me out ! I’m extremely lucky to have a friend like her, always ready to help me in my various projects !!!!

After some hours of testing and retouching, I’m really glad I didn’t start any big projects.. I love the end result but not as much as what I usually do… In the end I learned a lot, and all this knowledge will certainly help me evolve my style again !

 

J’adore créer des éclairages doux, qui viennent juste effleurer les formes de mes modèles, laissant toute la force de l’image dans leur expression et la composition…
Mais à force de toujours travailler avec le même style de lumière, j’avais le gout de tester autre chose ! J’adore ces photos contrastées ou une partie de l’information se perd pour laisser place au mystère…

Avant de mettre en place une équipe pour créer un Éditorial à l’éclairage “Edgy” j’ai fait appel à mon amie Éliza afin de tester ce style ! Je suis tellement chanceuse de pouvoir la compter parmi mes amies proches !!! Éliza est toujours partante pour m’aider dans mes projets créatifs, et j’adoooore tellement travailler avec elle !!!

Après quelques heures de test, et de retouche, je me dis que j’ai bien fait de faire cette séance test avant de me lancer dans un gros projet… En effet, j’aime le résultat final, mais pas au point de créer un Édito dans ce style… Néanmoins, j’ai beaucoup appris et je suis certaine que ces nouvelles connaissances ne peuvent que faire évoluer mon style !

TIPS :
Before embarking on a major creative project (with makeup artist / stylist / model ...) in a style that is completely out of your comfort zone, take the time to do some tests shoot ; )

 

TRUCS ET ASTUCES:
Avant de vous lancer dans un projet créatif d’envergure (avec maquilleuse / styliste / modèle…) dans un style qui sort de votre zone de confort, prenez le temps de faire quelques tests avant ;)
